What does "Printing in Galley" mean?

We know that printing labels, procedures, menus, and other documents is an essential part of the professional lives of our customers. Because of that, Galley supports different experiences for printing your documents, depending on what you need to print. Galley offers built-in document exports, reports, and printing services that integrate with other tools, like Loftware Cloud (previously Nicelabel).

Built-in document exports

Galley has built-in exports for various types of data. Instructions on using them are spread across several articles in this knowledge base, so let's look at them.

Recipe-based exports

From the Recipe page, you are able to export and print your data in multiple ways. Check the following articles and understand if that's what you need:

Reports

Default Reports

Galley provides all customers with a growing set of reports to help you in your daily routine.

On the report page (https://app.galleysolutions.com/reports), you'll find different tools for reporting on Inventory, Vendor data, Recipe data, and others.

Please refer to the articles in the reporting section of this Knowledge base for details on how to use it: https://support.galleysolutions.com/reporting

Custom Reports

Besides the default reports, it is also possible to have the Galley team create custom reports or custom labels for your company as an add-on, per-request feature.

If you'd like to know more, please reach out to our Customer Success team at success@galleysolutions.com. We'll validate your use case and let you know if it can be supported and the following steps to implement it when applicable.

Printing Services

You can print your labels, documents, and reports using integrated third-party tools. Different tools will provide you with different features, presenting pros and cons. Let's take a look at them:

Loftware Cloud (previously Nicelabel)

Loftware Cloud (https://www.loftware.com/products/labeling/loftware-cloud) is a powerful printing tool that can help you print any document you need, from simple receiving labels to complex grab-n-go labels and reports, using your Galley data in the process. Additionally, it allows you to print not only to IP printers but also to any local printer, as long as it is connected to a Windows PC.

Use this solution if you already have a Loftware Cloud account, or if you need to build custom printing documents that are not provided by Galley's standard exports and reports.

If you'd like to know more about this integration and to make sure you're ready to use it, please check out this article, Get Started with Loftware Cloud Integration.

Printing from a Printing Service

After your 3rd party Printing Service is ready, check How can I print my Galley data using a Printing Service? to understand how to use it.

Custom Templates

Lastly, create custom exports from your recipe and production data using our built-in templating tools. Like custom reports, custom templates can be created by the Galley team to solve use cases that are unique to your organization. To explore this option, please contact our Customer Success team at success@galleysolutions.com.

Once your templates are ready, check How do I export a custom template? to understand how to use them.
