What are categories and how do I use them?

Categories are free text that can be used to group different items in Galley. Categories can be added to recipes, ingredients, menus, menu items, vendor items, and purchase orders.

Categories can be created from the Categories catalog, created and assigned on an item's detail page, and assigned in bulk from the various catalog pages.

Once assigned, categories can be used to filter catalogs across Galley, added as columns to catalogs, and utilized in the advanced workflows (Inventory, Purchasing, & Production).
