Here are the most frequent questions regarding the Production Planner
How sub-recipes are planned when used in multiple menu items or menus, especially across menus with different dates
The Production Planner considers prep time and shelf life before deciding whether to batch recipes. If multiple menus have recipes or sub-recipes in common and the shelf life and prep time allow batching, then the production planner will batch recipes together.
Here are some high-level examples of how the prep time and shelf life can affect the Production Planner output:
Shelf-life
If a recipe with a two-day shelf-life belongs to two menus with consecutive dates, the Production Planner batches recipes together.
Prep TimeIf the recipe has a prep time surpassing the location's work hours, the Production Planner will suggest that the recipe be executed at least one day before the service date.

Can you make a Production Plan using menus at different locations?
No. By selecting multiple menus from different locations, when clicking on the production plan icon, the user will be prompted to select a single location. Once the location is selected, the menus from other locations will be disregarded.
Are the tags shown when looking at a recipe tile in the plan Recipe Tags or Menu Item tags?
The tags shown in the recipe detail modal on the Production Plan page are related to the recipe, not menu items.
Are the available assignees location-scoped based on the menu location(s)?
The available assignees are not location-scoped.
Why am I getting an error message when I input Volume Sold on the Menu?
If the customer has Basic Production Execution enabled, when inputting the Volume Sold quantity on a menu item, the system will decrement the finished goods associated with that recipe. This is known internally as Fulfillment.
If the customer does NOT have Basic Production Execution enabled, when inputting the Volume Sold quantity on a menu item, the system will decrement vendor items associated with ingredients from that recipe.
When inputting Volume Sold on the menu, getting an error message means that the Basic Production Execution feature flag is enabled and you have never produced a finished good for that specific recipe before.
That finished good was never created, therefore, it doesn't exist in the inventory. For that reason, the system has nothing to do with that input, so it just ignores it and shows the message.
