What happens if I delete a location?
The effects of deleting a location in Galley
If your operation is scaling down or you are changing your Galley organizational structure, you may be interested in deleting a location. It is important to understand that deleting a location affects not only the location itself but the data that was created for that location. As this deleted data is not recoverable, it is important to understand the effects of deleting a location.
- Vendor item-to-ingredient relationships at the location will be deleted. If you want to maintain the relationships at a different location, they will need to be copied before the location is deleted (learn how here).
- Menus for the location cannot be interacted with after the deletion. If you want to continue to use those menus, change the location that is assigned to each menu before the location is deleted.
- Cycle counts cannot be created for a deleted location and the cycle counts that were in progress for the deleted location cannot be properly submitted.
- Purchase orders cannot have their delivery date changed if their location has been deleted.
