Create recipes faster than ever with the Galley Assist recipe importer. Galley Assist can create and modify recipes based on a variety of inputs (see list below), streamlining the recipe creation process and jumpstarting your Galley kitchen.

Access the Galley Assist Recipe Importer

To access the Galley Assist importer, click the + on the Recipes catalog page. When on the recipe create page, change the switch from Standard recipe creation to Galley Assist. Then, put your recipe data in the text box and click Create. Galley Assist will then begin preparing your recipe. This process may take a minute. 

 

Inputs accepted by Galley Assist

Galley Assist can take a variety of inputs or a combination of them. See the currently available input types below:

  1. Recipe text (a copy and pasted recipe)

  2. A prompt (make a low-calorie lasagna recipe)

  3. Document Files:

    1. PDF (.pdf)

    2. Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx)

    3. Rich Text Format (.rtf)

    4. Plain Text (.txt)

    5. Markdown (.md)

  4. Spreadsheet Files:

    1. Microsoft Excel (.xls, .xlsx)

    2. CSV (.csv)

    3. Tab-separated values (.tsv)

  5. Presentation Files:

    1. Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx)

  6. Image Files:

    1. PNG (.png)

    2. JPEG/JPG (.jpg, .jpeg)

    3. GIF (.gif)

    4. BMP (.bmp)

    5. HEIC (.heic)

    6. WebP (.webp)

    7. TIFF (.tif, .tiff)

  7. Web Content:

    1. URLs (including Google Drive documents)

 

Your Inputs Section

If Galley Assist parses any of your input incorrectly, you can edit the parsed, formatted text and ask Galley Assist to reprocess it. To do so, click Edit in the Your Inputs section. Make your desired changes and click Save for Galley Assist to begin reprocessing. This form of editing is best for large structural changes. The edit method described in the next section is often best for minor changes. 

 

Galley Recipes Section

Review and edit previews of the imported recipes in the Galley Recipes section. During import, Galley Assist matches each component to existing recipes and ingredients similarly to the Bulk Add Components workflow. These suggested recipe components can be edited along with the other recipe data, ensuring your recipe is correct before it is created. Click Save and Edit for Galley Assist to create the new or update the existing recipes.

 

Show Original Assist Inputs

The original inputs are saved on recipes that were created or updated using Galley Assist. Click View Assist Inputs while on the recipe page to view them.
