Create a category-based permission. Restrict users from editing resources based on a tag.
Galley allows Admins to restrict who can edit specific resources in the system based on the applied tags. Rules for these restrictions are called Category Based Permission. Just Admins can create and assign those restrictions.
Users that have category-based permission applied to them will still be able to view all resources and tags, and the restriction will be enforced just for the edit action; To create a new Category Based Permission, navigate to the Settings page and click the Category-Based Permission. To create a new Category-Based Permission, click + New.
You will then be taken to the Categories-Based Permission detail page. You can begin by naming the category-based permission you would like to create and choose if you want to restrict access to a resource or restrict access to tags.
Restricting Access to a resource
To restrict access to a resource, check the first option and then select the resource type, meaning the type of data on which you would like to create the restriction. Then, you will choose the fit criteria for any or all the tags you will choose in the next step.
To select the tags that you would like to create the restriction on, click Add Tag. Select the category and the category value that you would like to enforce the restriction on. If you want to add more tags, click Add Tag again.
Users with this category-based permission applied to them will not be able to edit the resource with the selected tags and add/remove them. When you are all done, click Save.
Restricting Access to tags
To restrict access to a tag, check the second option and select the resource type. Then, you will choose the fit criteria for any or all the tags you will choose in the next step.
Users with this category-based permission applied to them will not be able to add or delete the specific tag in the selected resource. When you are all done, click Save.
The next step is to assign this Category-Based Permission to a set of users. Check here how to do it.
