Creation is understanding the various ways to create new items in Galley (e.g., recipes, ingredients, preparations, etc.). In this lesson, we will learn how to create a recipe, and in the process learn how to create other items.
To start creating a new recipe, you will click the + next the Recipes header on the Recipes page. From there, you'll enter the recipe name and start adding recipe components.
Galley allows you to layer in a lot of detail to your recipes, but the most important details are:
- Components and usages (i.e., component names, quantities, and units)
- Procedure (i.e., the instructions for making the recipe)
- Total recipe yield (i.e., how much does a specific recipe produce)
You can also create new recipes by copying then modifying existing recipes (do this by navigating to the recipe you would like to copy and click Actions > Copy).
Note that the fields in your header might look slightly different from those here depending on your account configuration and Galley plan. As you are going through this course, if you see a field or feature that is missing from your account, speak with your Customer Success Manager about how you can obtain it.
Note: The particular account that we're diving into was pre-loaded with a list of ingredients, so you will notice that some of the ingredient components that go into the recipe are already in the system. However, you don't have to have ingredients pre-loaded to Galley to get started creating recipes. You can create ingredients on the fly, as this tutorial will demonstrate.
Next up, we will learn about the second C, Consistency.
