Can I change the date of a cycle count that I already created?

How to update the date of a cycle count if the inventory count should be applied on a different date than when the count was created.

Counting inventory can sometimes be a long process. For that reason, you may find that you would like to start taking a cycle count the day before you want the count to apply financially. Similarly, if doing a correction cycle count, you may want to change the date of a cycle count to be in the past. For this reason, Galley allows you to update the dates of cycle counts that have not yet been submitted. To do so, open the cycle count you want to adjust, click the date field, and select your desired date.

To maintain the integrity of financial reporting, a company admin can set a limit on how far back inventory cycle counts can be backdated. This is done by opening the company settings page, selecting "Limit Cycle Count Backdating," and entering the maximum number of days. A value of 0 means that cycle counts cannot be backdated at all, a value of 1 means that cycle counts can only be backdated to the previous day, and so on.

With this setting applied, if there is an in-progress cycle count with a date before the earliest allowed date, the cycle count cannot be submitted until the date is changed.
