Can I fill a cycle count offline?

Cycle counts can be filled without an internet connection.

We know that when taking cycle counts on a tablet you may lose a wifi connection as you walk through your facility. So, Galley allows you to take cycle counts offline!

When your browser is unable to connect to the internet, Galley will display an Offline indicator at the top of your page.

When your Galley is offline, you will be able to perform several actions in a cycle count and any changes you make will be saved when you reconnect to wifi if you don't leave the page:

  • Edit a cycle count item quantity
  • Edit a cycle count item unit
  • Edit a cycle count date
  • Delete a cycle count item
  • Change pages
  • Apply a category grouping
  • Add a new column
  • Search

However, several actions are not possible while offline and will require you to reconnect to the internet. The buttons for these actions are un-clickable while offline:

  • Create a new cycle count item
  • Export a cycle count
  • Delete a cycle count
  • Submit a cycle count

If while offline you and someone who is online both update the same piece of information in cycle count, your change will overwrite the other person's change when you reconnect to the internet.
