Company Settings

In Galley, there are several features that can be enabled or disabled by an admin-level user at your company. These are company settings that define functionality across your company.

In Galley, there are several features that can be enabled or disabled by an admin-level user at your company. These are company settings that define functionality across your company. You can manage Galley's Company Settings via Profile->Settings->Settings. This document defines the options that are available.
To access the company settings, log into Galley as an Administrator, then go to the profile page (top-right), Settings, and Settings tab.

Changes you make on this Settings page are automatically saved.

 

Vendor Item

  • Allow bulk vendor item uploads to create and modify units and conversions: Checking this option allows vendor item uploads to create or change new items and change units.
  • Allow EDI vendor item uploads to create and modify units and conversions: Check this option to allow vendor item uploads through EDI to create or change new items and change units.
  • GL code: If checked, Galley displays a field to record GL code.
  • Set vendor item as the top priority when received: If checked, Galley's behavior is: When an item is received it will be set as the priority item to be used for future purchases and in recipe tree for allergens and sub ingredients. If unchecked, Galley will not modify the priority of items (but you can change the priority manually).

Recipe

  • Page break between recipes: If checked, page breaks in between recipes in recipe outputs (PDF) are enabled by default. If unchecked, page breaks in between recipes in recipe outputs (PDF) are disabled by default. No matter if this field is checked or not, the user may select to insert page breaks or not; this field sets default behavior.
  • Recipe yield percent: If checked, Galley displays a field for a recipe yield percentage.
  • Enable preparations: When checked, Galley displays a column for Preparations on  the recipe page and displays the link on the left-side menu. If unchecked, Galley does not display the Preparations column or the link on the left-side menu.
  • Display recipe short code when showing name: If checked, the recipe short code is prepended before the name of the recipe.

    If a Recipe called "Grilled Cheese" has a short code of "1067 GrChe" and this company setting is checked, the Recipe name will be displayed as "1067 GrChe | Grilled Cheese". If this company setting is unchecked, the Recipe name will be displayed as "Grilled Cheese".

Ingredient

  • Ingredient external name: If checked, displays a field for an external name for ingredient ("Green onion" vs "onion, green"). See this page for more details.
  • Ingredient external ID: If checked, Galley enables a field for external ID for an ingredient.

    If an Ingredient called "Sauce, Tamari" has a short code of "ID001" and this company setting is checked, the Ingredient name will be displayed as "ID001 | Sauce, Tamari". If this company setting is unchecked, the Ingredient name will be displayed as "Sauce, Tamari".
  • Display ingredient external id when showing name: When checked, Galley displays the external ID in the name of the ingredient.

Error Reports

  • Show cost related errors in error reporting: When checked, Galley displays costing errors in error reporting. If unchecked, Galley does not display costing errors in error reporting.
  • Show errors when a recipe is missing a short code: If you have the short codes feature enabled, checking this option causes Galley to display error if item does not have a short code. 

Nutritional label

Check the following items to enable those items to display on a nutrition label.
  • Allergen list
  • Ingredients list
  • Horizontal nutrition label
  • Protein DV %
  • Shows Daily Values Percentage for Nutrients
  • PDCAAS: (Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score) is used to adjust the Protein DV% of a recipe to the account for the quality of the protein.
